time flies by!!

wow!! has it really been over a month since i blogged?!?! i have no idea where the time goes, still getting used to working full time i guess. by the time i get home, it's been a 10 hr day (including the drive to & from work)

last weekend i took a trip to Vancouver to visit my cousin (much needed sister cousin time) and to shop for some inexpensive sewing supplies. Let me tell you, the trip was definitely worth it!! =D I met up with my friend Tanya (a fellow sewing addict) and we started off at Dressew, where we probably spent  good hour or two. It's kind of hard to walk away from 5000-10,000 yd spools of thread for only $0.99. Thankfully I only bought about a dozen, and also go some notions.

After, we literally went around the corner to ButtonButton...actually I think I ran down the hill a little bit LOL. I can't wait to move over to Vancouver, that will be my spot to go to for buttons.
Then we ventured down the street to a wholesale fabric shop. Dirt cheap prices, couldn't believe it! I got some beautiful purple fabric, light weight twill I think, to make a jacket. I envision it being lining with black satin with white polka dots.
And this is only 1 wall of the store =)

Ahhh then break time =) We went up Seymour St to a great Japanese restaurant. And what are the odds that you'll see someone you know in that huge of a city in ONE out of thousands of restaurants?? I seen a family friend in there, man it was good to see her smiling face.

We went on an adventure through Gastown, stopping in some of the local boutiques...I hate to criticize others work, but some of those designers take so many obvious shortcuts and don't seem to have a lot of pride in their work. Im thinking to myself "hey if this is what they're selling, I'm already there, I can do this!"

So it was quite the inspiring trip, both creative & emotionally.
I finally had some time last night to get started on some store product, I'm VERY excited to finally get it going. Enough of being scared, time to fly!!
